Joaquín Centeno “Joaqui JC Quincho” Dies in Car Accident: Salvadoran Community Mourns Beloved Firefighter and Music Producer
It is with deep sorrow that the Salvadoran and Long Island communities mourn the tragic passing of Joaquín Centeno, affectionately known as “Joaqui JC Quincho”. Joaquín died on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the age of 51, following a devastating car accident in Uniondale. His sudden death has left a tremendous void in the lives of his family, friends, and the countless individuals whose lives he touched through service, music, and community leadership.
A Life of Service and Dedication
Born in Santa Ana, El Salvador, Joaquín carried his love for his roots into everything he did. After immigrating to the United States, he dedicated himself to public service and community safety. He proudly served as a firefighter with the Village of Hempstead Fire Department and the Medford, NY Fire Department, where he risked his life countless times to protect others.
Beyond firefighting, Joaquín also worked with the Hempstead Public Works Department, further demonstrating his unwavering commitment to building stronger, safer communities. His colleagues remember him as a dependable, selfless individual who was always willing to lend a hand.
A Passionate Musician and Creative Force
Joaquín was not only a hero in uniform but also a creative spirit who left a significant mark in the music industry. As a producer, audio engineer, composer, and manager at Imperial Prestige Records, he blended his technical expertise with his artistic passion. His work as a digital creator further connected him to the community, where his creativity inspired and uplifted many.
His educational journey reflected his commitment to growth and excellence. Joaquín studied at Five Towns College (Music and Audio Engineering), SUNY Old Westbury, UCA El Salvador, and graduated from Hempstead High School. This diverse academic background fueled both his professional career and his artistic endeavors.
Family Was His Greatest Legacy
Above all else, Joaquín was a devoted family man. He leaves behind his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren, who were the light of his life. To them, he was more than a public servant and artist—he was a loving husband, a guiding father, a caring grandfather, and the heart of their family.
His daughter, Naomy Linet, shared heartfelt words about her father:
“We all know my father was full of life and laughter, and that’s how he would want to be remembered. We ask that you bring your favorite drinks you shared with him, food, and your best memories to honor him.”
